Light the Night Corn Maze at Mulberry Orchard

Black Gold Festival – Hazard KY

In Hazard, coal has been a huge part of life for the people of Hazard and they created a festival to celebrate it! According to the Kentucky Tourism website it is one of the largest festivals in Kentucky. September 18th-20th, Hazard puts on the Black Gold Festival. 200 Years On the Ohio

The Farnsley-Morman Landing is hosting a really neat event September 20th and 21st from 10am – 2 pm both days. They are doing a ‘living history timeline’, that starts in 1740 and spans through 1940. They will be showcasing historical re-enactments in a wide variety of categories that include: clothing, pastimes, food ways, tools and weapons. On Sunday September 21st, at 1pm there is a baseball game set in the 1860s between the Cincinnati Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Buckeyes. Review: The Arctic Scoop

I caught wind of a new ice cream place in Louisville just off of Hurstbourne lane, and I loaded up the kids. The Arctic Scoop is located in the shopping center with the Barnes and Noble and took over the old Grater’s Ice Cream location.
