Review: A Christmas Story

Last Friday night I was privileged to attend the opening night of the play “A Christmas Story.” The play was put on by the Shelby County Community Theater.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was a great show! Performance times for all shows (unless otherwise noted) Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Prices are pretty reasonable as well. Ticket prices are as follows:  Adults $15, Seniors (62+) $12, Students $10. It doesn’t list anything for children so that is a good question to ask!

I went with a good friend of mine and we made it a girls night! We ate at the Bell House prior to the show which was very good. It is also very conveniently located right next to the theater.

The play started at 7:30 and ended at 10, with a 15 minute intermission half way through the play. The play was spot on with the story line and hit all of the memorable parts. Think the leg lamp, red rider bb gun and shooting your eye out!

I was glad that I took my friend with me because I think even my 5 year old would have gotten restless, my friend did comment that her 13 year old would have loved it!

This was a great girls night out experience and would also make a great date night or mother/daughter day!

There is one weekend left of the play and I encourage you to grab some tickets and some friends and

go have a nice night in Shelbyville!
