Gifts that Give Back

 photo digit_zpstvxiwf04.jpgUnited HealthCare has a way that you can turn your gift-giving into a way to give back to others.  They have a medical grants program that has helped 200 families in Kentucky over the past five years. 

Available now, inspirational children’s books, toys, and kid-designed holiday cards from the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) will not only make great gifts, but the proceeds from those items will fund child medical grants for families who need financial assistance.

Holiday gift ideas include:
  • Award-winning Oliver & Hope children’s storybooks, along with plush characters Children’s joke books
  • Digit’y Do — a new numbers game that combines elements of strategy and probability with a high dose of fun. Kid-designed holiday cards and 2017 wall calendars
  • Grins to Go bags— this nylon draw string backpack is filled to the brim with a dozen toys, games and activities that will inspire and amuse any boy or girl between the ages of 4 and 12.

All products are available at Amazon.com (search for UHCCF) and 100% of the proceeds go to fund medical grants for children in Kentucky and throughout the U.S.

Interested in applying for a grant?
To be eligible for a grant, children must be 16 years of age or younger. Families must meet economic guidelines, reside in the United States and have a commercial health insurance plan. Families do not need to have insurance through UnitedHealthcare to be eligible.


Since 2007, UHCCF has awarded over 12,000 grants valued at more than $34 million to children and their families across the United States for treatments associated with medical conditions such as cancer, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, diabetes, hearing loss, autism, cystic fibrosis, Down syndrome, ADHD and cerebral palsy. Kentucky families in need should go to www.uhccf.org to review criteria and submit an online application.
