Family Activity Center in Shelbyville – Great indoor or outdoor swimming spot for families!

The Family Activity Center at Clear Creek Park in Shelbyville offers one of the best indoor/outdoor pools for families with young children close to the Louisville Metro area. The outdoor pool offers a zero entry side with water sprayers, a kiddie Frog slide and a larger water slide for older children and adults. The pool is small enough that you can see your children wherever they may be in the pool. This is a particulary great pool for families with children in the 0-10 age range. Indoors, you will find a lap pool, diving boards and kiddie pool with slide.

Lindsey Golf Course Moonlight Golf – Fort Knox

The Lindsey Golf Course will offer  Moonlight Golf Tee Time Every Saturday in July.  Golf with lighted golf balls and chem. lights for flag sticks! Tee times will begin at approximately 10:30 p.m. This event is open to all golfers. The Buckley Wildlife Santuary near Frankfort

The Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary near Frankfort KY offers six miles of trails, a Nature Center, and a fantastically active Bird Blind. Families can spend the day picnicking, hiking, and identifying the many birds found in Kentucky. FREE Kentucky Girls STEM Program

I caught wind of this fantastic event on Facebook and felt like you need to know about it!  It’s a free event (registration required) for girls. According to the website: “Girls Day Out program is designed to promote interest in STEM careers (science, technology, engineering & math). The workshop will allow for personal and in-depth career exploration. The students will learn about STEM careers first hand by touring and visiting a local company.” As a former math teacher and well…..a female, I think this is CRAZY AWESOME!
