Mayberry Festival in Lebanon

This weekend marks the annual Mayberry Pie Festival in Lebanon, Kentucky.

The festival started on August 13 and runs through August 16.

If you think that you have what it takes as a fisherman Andy’s Fishing Tournament starts at 6am and lasts until Noon on Saturday.

Students can enter the Opie’s Fishing tournament lasting from 12:30 – 2:30.

For both of the fishing tournaments there are prizes awarded.

Enter the pie eating contest at 2pm, for a $7 entry fee you could take home the blue ribbon and a $50 grand prize. Assuming that you have what it takes to gobble down pies in record time!

Don’t forget to catch the 3PM showing of the show “Tied Up in Knotts” starring Karen Knotts (Don Knotts daughter)

Starting at 5 pm on Saturday you and your family can hear the Honeysuckle String Band play, this is a free activity.

At 6pm attendees are invited to have dinner in one of the restaurants on Main Street, where the restaurants will be serving up Mayberry specials.

This festival sounds like the perfect way to have some good old fashioned family fun!
