Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Events around Kentucky

School is out for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – what’s fun around Kentucky that you all can do together?

 

Perform and act of service. A lot of cities coordinate special service opportunities on this day.  If you can’t find one…….surely you can think of your own way to serve your community with your family!

The Living Arts Center (Lexington) has special classes set up for the day off of school.  Click here for details.  Preregistration is required and they have cool things for kids in kindergarten all the way up to high school.

Side by Side Studio (Louisville) is inviting families to make friendship bracelets that they will give to the youth of the Americana Community Center. It’s free and you can drop in between 1 and 3pm. Details here.

The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning (Lexington) is hosting a Community Celebration. It’s free and open to everyone. Details here.

Explorium of Lexington will have free admission for children on MLK Jr. Day!

Newport Aquarium has a winter-fun deal for families, kids get free admission with a paying adult ($24.99). (Northern Kentucky)
