Five Fun Things To Do Before School Starts

 Pioneer Playhouse Danville 

Take in a play at the Pioneer Playhouse, Kentucky’s oldest outdoor theater in Danville. Pioneer Playhouse was built by Col. Eben C. Henson who established the outdoor theater in 1950. Notable alumni actors include John Travolta, Lee Majors, then known as Harvey Yeary, and Jim Varney.  

From July 23 to August 10 they will feature a production of Fireflies, appropriate for all ages. You family can also opt to enjoy a BBQ dinner before the show. Make memories under the stars while supporting a beloved Kentucky tradition. Tickets are $22 for adults $14 for kids (12 & under) if you want to include dinner it’s $40 for adults and $26 for kids (12 & under are)

 Somersplash Waterpark  Somerset 

End Summer break with a splash at Somersplash Waterpark . Lost River Cave, Bowling Green

Lost River Cave is home to the only underground boat tour in the state of Kentucky and the only zip line in Bowling Green. In addition to the boat tour, Lost River Cave offers over two miles of nature trails, ziplines, and a unique, seasonal butterfly habitat. 

Board a boat and take a journey into history. Hear unforgettable stories of Lost River Cave as an ancient native hunting ground, a Civil War campground for both the Union and Confederacy, a hideout for the infamous outlaw Jesse James, and a swinging underground 1930’s nightclub.
