Whether they are enjoying delicious heart-shaped candy or proudly presenting a handcrafted Valentines card, there is nothing sweeter than watching kids embrace the essence of Valentines in Kentucky. Here is a list of events from around Kentucky for your favorite little love bug.

Eastern

V is for Valentine’s Storytime! (Ashland)*Free Event

The Boyd Co. Public Library – Midland branch is hosting this Valentines themed story time and card crafting event.  No registration is required for this free event held on February 13 from 11 am – noon.

 

Wonka Valentines Party (Prestonsburg) *Free Event

Books open up a world of pure imagination, so celebrate Valentine’s Day in Kentucky with sweet treats galore, Willy Wonka style! The Floyd County Public Library- Prestonsburg Branch is hosting this family event on Saturday, February 17 from 10 am – noon. Seating at the free event is first come, first served with no registration required.  Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the activity!*

 

Valentines Finger Paint Heart Craft (Pike County) *Free Event

The Pike County Library District will host the Finger Paint Heart Craft on Tuesday, February 20 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. Kids can paint a heart on canvas at the following branches: Pike County Public Library (Lee Avenue), Belfry Public Library, Elkhorn City Public Library, Vesta Roberts Johnson Memorial Library, and Phelps Public Library. All materials provided. No registration required.

North Central 

Valentine’s Day Story time, Songs & Special Craft (Bedford) *Free Event

Celebrate Valentine’s Day in Kentucky at the Trimble County Library with stories, songs, and a special craft on Wednesday, February 14 from 10:30 – 11:00 am. There will be a card exchange after story time.  This event is recommended for ages 18 months – 6 years old

Family Valentine’s Day – Free Dessert & Magic (Ft. Thomas)  

The Post – Taps and Bottle Shop is helping families celebrate Valentine’s Day with free dessert and magic. Magic Bob will be walking around to tables from 6-8pm and The Gruff is passing out free dessert with meal purchases!

 

Little Sweetheart Dance at The Kentucky Castle (Versailles) 

The Kentucky Castle is hosting an evening of dancing, music and food for adults and their favorite sweethearts on Saturday, February 17 at 7:00 pm. This event, for children from pre-school through 8th grade,  will be a night to remember. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres curated for both kids and adults, dancing, a princess tiara or a prince’s crown and a photo booth.  There will also be a cash bar for the adults. This is a great Valentines in Kentucky for the whole family.

 

Central

Valentines Kids Night Out (Glasgow)

 Let the Barren County YMCA plan a night of fun for your kids while you get a night away to celebrate Valentines on Saturday, February 17. Kids ages 4-12 will enjoy pizza for dinner, cookie decorating, crafts and a movie. The event is from 5:00 – 10:00 pm and costs $20 for the first child then $10 for each additional child.

 

Western

Tiny Tot Valentine’s Day Celebration (Paducah)

The Paducah Recreation Center invites kids age 5 and under to celebrate Valentine’s Day with craft, games and play time. The February 14 event is from 9:30-10:30 am and a parent/guardian is required to remain with any enrolled children. The registration fee is $4.72 

 

Love Bites Haunted Trail by the Lake

Is it a Valentine’s Day delight…or is it bite? McLean County Fish and Game in partnership with Ghostly Productions is putting a spooky twist on Valentines with the Love Bites Haunted Trail by the Lake on February 17 from 6 – 8 pm. Admission is $5 onsite and concessions will be available. This is a cash only event.  

*This event was originally scheduled for February 10, but was pushed back due to the wet trails.
