5 Kentucky Camping Destinations

It is no secret in my family that as close as I get to camping is staying in a hotel with no cable and scratchy sheets. To each his own, my husband and our two boys love it. Which is why I got to thinking about fall break with the post from yesterday and decided to expand on that. Think of this as 5 places in Kentucky that are perfect camping spots. I have been told that the crisp fall air makes for a perfect night to camp.

Here are our 5 Kentucky Camping Destinations:

Turkey Foot is located in the Daniel Boone National Forest, it is free to camp here and there are 6 to 15 campsites. According to the website they have restrooms to use nearby, bonus points in my book!

Still Waters Campground is located in Frankfort, KY and they do require 4 days notice to book a campsite. Tent and RV camping have water and electric at all of the sites.

Little Patch of Heaven is located in Bardstown,KY “primitive camping” is $14 for 2 people. The name has recently changed from Holt’s Campground. There is a lake on the property as well as restrooms near the sites.

Sparta Campground is located in Sparta, KY just 2 miles from the speedway. The cost is $25 for 2 adults per night, children under 12 are free!

Kentucky Lake’s Big Bear Resort is located in Benton, KY and sits on Kentucky lake. The cost is $25 for 1-4 people, kids 6 and under are free.
