From the Batter Capital of the World in Hopkinsville to the Quilt Capital of the World in Paducah, the program includes a total of eleven ‘capital’ destinations, each with its own claim to fame. This engaging program not only highlights these sites but also encourages visitors to delve into the rich culture and history of the Bluegrass State.

The Quest

Here are the exciting destinations featured in the Kentucky Capitals Quest passport program:

  • Bowling Green: Known as the Corvette Capital of the World, where you can tour the National Corvette Museum, dine at the Stingray Grill, and even take a spin on the NCM Motorsports Park track.
  • Frankfort: The Historic Heartbeat of Kentucky, offering a view of the impressive trompe l’oeil Rotunda Murals at the Kentucky State Capitol.
  • Hopkinsville: Celebrate its status as the Batter Capital of the World.
  • Lexington: The Horse Capital of the World, home to the Kentucky Horse Park and a place to meet champions like the Trotting Triple Crown winner, Marion Marauder.
  • London-Laurel Co.: The Cycling Capital of Kentucky, which offers routes once explored by the legendary Daniel Boone.
  • Morehead-Rowan Co.: Known as the Muskie Fishing Capital of the South.
  • Oldham Co.: The Farm Tour Capital of Kentucky, featuring a unique small-scale castle and fairy forest.
  • Owensboro: The Bluegrass Music Capital of the World, where you can see the fiddle played by Bill Monroe’s Uncle Pen.

Visitors can pick up a passport at any of the 11 visitor centers on the Kentucky Capitals Quest route. Collect a sticker for each destination visited and earn prizes: a special reward for collecting six stickers and another for visiting all 11 destinations. Complete the quest and you’ll be honored as a Kentucky Capitals Quest Ambassador!
