Here are a few out of this world experiences we would suggest if your family wants to have fun this weekend without breaking the bank.

Eastern Kentucky 

Friday | Spoonbread Hot Air Balloon Glow, 8pm

Where: 1 Pirate Parkway Berea, Ky

On the Cheap: FREE

Saturday | Discovery Saturday - Aerospace Day, 10-2pm

What: Celebrate the GRAND OPENING of the Marksbury Discovery Science Exhibit.  Experience LIVE feeds from the International Space Station and space talks with Tim Knauer in the Planetarium. Build your own rockets and gliders and more.

Where: Living Arts and Science Center

On the Cheap: This event is FREE.  


Saturday | Louisville Science Center, 9:30am - 9pm

What: Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day

On the Cheap: FREE Admission to the museum, but you MUST register here. Your ticket, which is good for the admission of two people, will be emailed to you.

North Central Kentucky 

Saturday | Star Party With the Cincinnati Observatory

Where: Erlanger Flagship Park

What: Get a guided tour of the night sky. See Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn through portable telescopes along with the waxing gibbous Moon!  

On the Cheap: FREE

Western Kentucky

Saturday | Paducah Dragon Boat Festival, 9-2pm

Where: Paducah River Front at the River Discovery Center

On the Cheap: FREE
