Five Fantastic Festivals in October
October is the perfect month for venturing somewhere new. The scenic routes around the state are full of colors – so even the drive makes for a part of a perfect outing. Here are five awesome festivals taking place this month that we think are worth getting to!
St. James Court Art Show (Louisville, early October) – This is a staple! Set in the historic Victorian district of Old Louisville, this festival is an eclectic mix of shopping, entertainment and art. It has something for everyone – even the kids.
Hunter’s Moon Fall Festival (Grand Rivers, early October) – There are three days of fun for this festival complete with a pancake breakfast, a pageant, a parade, stage with entertainment and a kids area. There’s a trolley around town for free and……cake walk – need we say more.
Mt. Washington Fall Festival (Mount Washington, Mid-October) – This festival is made possible by the local Lions Club. Car show, fish fry, carnival, wild west show, vendors and more. It’s FREE!
ColorFest at Berheim (Clermont, Mid-October) – It’s a celebration of exactly what it says, the gorgeous colors of the season. Berheim is great all year round, but perfect in the fall. Crafts, hayrides, slingshots – what’s not to love? Free admission ($5 environmental fee per car for non-members)
Woolly Worm Festival (Lee County, late-October) – Does the name say it all? What a name, right? It’s everything you want in a festival – stages full of random entertainers from animal acts to bluegrass music, a car show and…..a woolly worm race you won’t want to miss.
