Double Dogs This is an open-air, family friendly joint with everything you would want on an all-American menu  with many items served up…………..in dog bowls.  You can sit inside for a loud, sports-bar, buzzing atmosphere or hang outside on the patio/open air section for something a little more calm – there are still TVs so you can peak at the latest scores.  Also, this place was pretty darn affordable for a dinner out.  The kids meals were $3.99 and included a drink and combined with my salad and tea, our total was around $20. Kentucky is not the place for snow tubing or skiing (unless it’s water-skiing on one of our many wonderful lakes).   Searches for snow fun will come up empty and send you north to Indiana or Ohio or east into West Virginia. Perhaps a jaunt down to TN, that’s an option. If you want to ski or snow tube throughout KY, it seems you are on your own to find a hill or path! January is a difficult month. People are coming down off of the excitement of the holidays, those bills are coming in from December gift spending and it’s dark and cold.  Sounds thrilling, huh? Well, don’t fret too much – you can make it through the month and still have some fun!   1) Monkey Joe’s in Lexington is an inexpensive option for indoor fun because there’s no fee for adults and it is just $5 for toddlers age 2 and under.  The entire place is for kids 12 and under and they do have a frequency pass for discounts if

  1) It takes place September 24-26th  (last weekend in September) in historic downtown Paducah.   2) Admission is FREE! 3) There are multiple stages so there’s pretty much live entertainment everywhere you turn. 4) It’s all for charity! 5) Go hungry – folks will cook up over 80,000 lbs of pork and chicken and you’ll want to sample quite a bit. 6) There’s a huge list of vendors so there’s something to delight everyone.  7)  For the kids – lots to see! Plus facepainting, balloon animals and more.   8) Plan ahead- there will be over 40,000 people there!   9)
